Why ports mechanise transhipment

A port's main loss is time: vessels waiting, penalties for railcar detention and not enough people for heavy manual work. That is why mechanising transhipment is a priority. It applies to practically every bulk cargo carried loose: sulphur, fertilisers, minerals, concentrates and so on.

What the equipment covers

VH-500 railcar vibrators discharge caked or slightly frozen cargo from hopper railcars (up to 550 J; a typical railcar takes up to 5 minutes including clean-up). The Sweeper GT brush machine cleans the railcar body in 3–5 minutes — with no one inside the railcar body. Rockhammer RH-200 impactors keep material flowing in steel bunkers and transfer chutes — automatically, by preset program or blockage-sensor signal.

Honest limitations

Professional equipment is built for large transhipment volumes. At 2–3 railcars a day the purchase usually doesn't pay off — unless a single railcar takes 10 hours to clear.
